Inverness Airport Celebrates 10 Years of Global Connections with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is proud to celebrate ten years of operations from Inverness Airport. Since launching services from Inverness in Summer 2016, KLM has played a role in enhancing international connectivity for the Highlands, supporting both inbound and outbound travel for business, tourism, and visiting friends and relatives.

Today, the airline operates two daily flights between Inverness and Amsterdam, with an additional service being introduced during the peak summer months of July and August 2026.

Through KLM’s extensive network of more than 160 destinations via Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, travellers from the Highlands can connect seamlessly to cities across Europe, North America, Asia and beyond.

Recent KLM booking data highlights the interest in international travel from and into Inverness.

  • Besides the Netherlands, the most popular European destinations for travel from inverness are France, Germany, Italy and Spain. China, Thailand and the United States rank among the leading long-haul destinations.
  • Visitors from Austria, Denmark, France, Germany and Italy lead the way for inbound travel from Europe, while Canada, China and the United States lead demand from countries further afield.
