Our training packages are bespoke and tailored to suit your individual business needs.

  • Option 1 is a half-day workshop designed to specifically target the areas your business has identified where there may be value in training. We will look at a number of topics in depth to ensure you remain compliant when trading internationally. 

  • Option 2 is a Bitesize Training package. This is a shorter version of our full training workshop (lasting approximately one hour) and is designed to cover the essentials when it comes to international trade. Three topics are included in this package and you can choose the topics most relevant for you.

TARIFF CLASSIFICATION

Understanding tariff classification is essential for successful international trade. This topic will help you identify the correct commodity codes for your products, understand the customs duties and taxes that apply, and navigate global trade tariffs with confidence. You will also learn how to assess and make the most of Free Trade Agreements, helping your business reduce costs, remain compliant and unlock new international opportunities. 

EXPORT DOCUMENTATION

This topic provides practical guidance on completing key documents, including Certificates of Origin and EUR1 Movement Certificates, while also helping you understand the purpose and requirements of documents such as Certificates of Free Sale, Letters of Credit, Bills of Lading, Air Waybills and ATA Carnets. You will gain the knowledge needed to meet customs requirements, avoid delays, and ensure goods move efficiently across borders. 

INCOTERMS® 2020

A clear understanding of Incoterms® 2020 is essential for managing risk, cost and responsibility in International trade. This training topic explains the 11 internationally recognised trade terms and how they define the obligations of buyers and sellers throughout the shipping process. You will learn when to use each Incoterm, understand the impact on transport, insurance and customs arrangements, and gain the confidence to navigate contracts and avoid costly misunderstandings in global trade transactions. 

RULES OF ORIGIN

Rules of Origin play a crucial role in determining where a product is considered to have been made and whether it qualifies for preferential tariff treatment under a Free Trade Agreement. This training explains how origin is established, the evidence required to support origin claims, and the practical steps businesses need to take to remain compliant. You will gain a clearer understanding of origin requirements, helping reduce costs, avoid customs issues and take full advantage of available trade preferences. 

CUSTOMS

Accurate customs declarations are vital for smooth international trade and border compliance. This topic provides a practical understanding of the key data elements required to complete import and export declarations, including the role of EORI numbers and customs representation. It also explores customs special procedures, transit documents and the differences between direct and indirect representation when working with customs brokers, helping you manage customs processes confidently and efficiently. 

TRADING WITH THE EU

Trading with the EU presents unique customs and border requirements that businesses must understand to keep goods moving efficiently. This topic covers the key considerations for GB-EU trade, including import processes, border formalities and compliance requirements. You will gain an understanding of temporary storage and pre-lodged import models, as well as how the Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS) supports the movement of goods throurggh UK ports, helping you navigate EU trade with greater confidence and minimise delays.
