Brodies Colleagues Go the Distance for CHAS with Camino Trek

Colleagues from UK top 50 law firm Brodies LLP will take on part of the Camino de Santiago this summer to raise money for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS).

Taking place from Friday 5 June to Tuesday 9 June 2026, the challenge will see 22 colleagues from its Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness and Leeds offices come together to hike more than 67km in three days.

The trek has been inspired by the work of CHAS, the firm’s chosen charity partner, which provides care for children who may die young and their families.

Managing Partner, Stephen Goldie, said, “As a firm, we are very proud to have supported CHAS since 2024 and to partner with a charity that makes such a difference to children and families across Scotland. With colleagues representing all areas of our firm taking part, we wish the entire team the very best for the Camino challenge ahead and congratulate them on the fantastic efforts they have already made to raise funds for CHAS – their commitment is a strong reflection of our values at Brodies.”

The team will start the trek in the Spanish town of Palas de Rei and will hike through villages and forests for three days to reach their destination, Santiago de Compostela.

Partner, Stuart Murray, member of the Camino team and Chair of Brodies’ Care Committee, said, “Working with CHAS over the last two years has been enlightening and humbling. The support they provide for children and their families in the most difficult circumstances is simply incredible. With many colleagues visiting Robin House earlier this month we’ve been able to see first-hand just how important CHAS is to the families it supports, making us more determined than ever to complete the challenge and meet our fundraising target.”

Rhiannon Ogg, Digital Marketing Coordinator, and Camino team member, added, “We are all really excited to be taking on the Camino trek and have put on many fundraising events across our offices in the run-up to June, with more planned. While we know the challenge will be demanding, it will make the experience all the more special knowing we are raising vital funds for CHAS.”

Louise Swann, Mass Participation Manager at CHAS, said, “We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity and commitment shown through Brodies’ fantastic fundraising efforts. Every pound raised helps CHAS continue providing vital care and support to children with life-shortening conditions and their families across Scotland. It’s thanks to dedicated supporters like this that we can be there for families at the most difficult times, helping them create precious memories together.”
