Scotland–Canada Virtual Networking Event Opens Doors for Scottish Businesses

Scottish businesses and partners are being invited to explore new opportunities with Canada through a dedicated Scotland–Canada Virtual B2B Networking session taking place on Thursday 11 June. Hosted by Inverness, Edinburgh and West Highland Chambers of Commerce in partnership with Canadian Chamber organisations, the free-to-attend event aims to support international growth, collaboration, and long-term trade development.

Structured breakout sessions will give participants the opportunity to engage directly with Canadian organisations in small-group discussions. Designed to maximise meaningful interaction, these sessions will help Scottish businesses build valuable connections and gain practical insight into doing business in Canada.

Key discussion areas will include market entry routes, regulatory requirements, and available support services. Participants will also explore opportunities for joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and collaborative opportunities. With strong alignment across sectors such as renewable energy, life sciences, digital innovation, food and drink, tourism and advanced manufacturing, there is significant potential for mutual growth between Scotland and Canada.

The session will also feature a case study from Rutland Square Spirits, offering a real-world perspective on entering the Canadian market. Having successfully secured distribution in Canada, the company will share first-hand experience of navigating regulatory requirements, overcoming initial challenges, and building a presence in a competitive international market. Their insights will provide practical guidance and encouragement for Scottish businesses considering similar export and expansion journeys.

Nishant Sharma, Founder of Rutland Square Spirits said “we are delighted to be featured as a case study for Scotland-Canada Business Week. Exporting to Canada has been an exciting and rewarding journey for Rutland Square Spirits, and we’ve learned valuable lessons along the way – from navigating regulations to building strong local partnerships. We’re looking forward to sharing our experience and encouraging other businesses to join, gain practical insights, and feel more confident about taking their own first steps into the Canadian market.”

This event is particularly relevant for Scottish companies looking to expand internationally, as well as for partners and stakeholders involved in economic development and business support. By supporting knowledge-sharing and fostering collaboration, the session will help strengthen Scotland’s international profile and reinforce its position as a globally connected, innovative, and outward-looking economy.

The Chamber network remains committed to helping Scottish businesses grow internationally and build stronger trade links.

With spaces limited to ensure meaningful engagement, businesses and partners are encouraged to register early to take full advantage of this opportunity to connect, collaborate, and explore new opportunities with Canada.
