Aer Lingus Regional, exclusively operated by Emerald Airlines, today (21 May 2026) celebrated the commencement of its new service between Inverness and Dublin.
Operating twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, the new route restores a direct connection between the Highlands and Ireland’s capital. During the summer season, flights have been timed to offer onward connectivity via Dublin to Aer Lingus transatlantic services to New York (JFK).
The service is expected to support both inbound tourism and business connectivity, making it easier for Irish visitors to explore the Scottish Highlands, while also opening up new leisure and long-haul travel opportunities for customers travelling from Inverness and the surrounding region.
Dublin offers a wide range of attractions, from historic streets and cultural landmarks to a vibrant music and hospitality scene, as well as easy access to coastal and countryside locations.
Dan Mason, Inverness Airport Manager, said, “Today sees a significant boost for connectivity in and out of the Highlands. This new service links with Ireland and beyond, supporting business travel and onward connections to key international destinations including North America. We are delighted to welcome Aer Lingus to Inverness.”
Ian Lough, Head of Commercial at Emerald Airlines said, “We are delighted to officially launch our new Inverness to Dublin service today. This route represents an important addition to the Aer Lingus Regional network and provides customers in the Highlands with a convenient direct link to Dublin, as well as excellent onward connectivity to North America through the wider Aer Lingus network.”
