Voices Heard, Futures Changed – RASASH Launches Big Give Women and Girls Campaign to Support Young Survivors in Highland

Rape and Sexual Abuse Service Highland (RASASH) is thrilled to announce its participation in the 2025 Big Give Women & Girls campaign. Running from October 8–15, this week-long initiative aims to raise £10,000 for RASASH’s ‘Voices Heard, Futures Changed’ campaign, which supports the development of their vital children and young people’s service.

During the campaign, all donations made through the Big Give Campaign page will be matched- doubling the impact of every contribution. RASASH currently provides free, confidential services for survivors aged 13 and over, including emotional support and advocacy for those navigating the criminal justice system. Funds raised through this appeal will allow the service to expand to reach survivors as young as 11.

Alev Taylor, CEO of RASASH, expressed why there is a need for the campaign, “In a region as vast and rural as Highland, too many young survivors feel isolated and unsure where to turn. This campaign helps us change that. By expanding access to age 11+, we can reach them sooner and make sure every voice is heard and every future has the chance to heal.”

Alongside direct support for survivors, RASASH delivers a wide programme of prevention and awareness-raising in schools and youth settings. Last year, the team reached over 4,000 young people with more than 250 workshops and sessions, helping to build understanding, challenge harmful myths, and create safer environments for children and young people.

Highlighting the unique chance to maximise donations, Eilidh Little, RASASH’s Fundraising Worker, said, “This is such an exciting opportunity because for one week only, every donation people make will be doubled at no extra cost to them. It means that a gift of £20 instantly becomes £40, helping us reach even more young survivors with vital and lifechanging support.”

RASASH has been at the forefront of supporting survivors of sexual violence in Highland for over 10 years. Funds raised from the campaign will help them reach more young survivors, their families, and the professionals who work alongside them across the region.
