Trees for Life have released their latest newsletter outlining all of the fantastic projects that are going on in Scotland.
The first of which is the news that the Scottish Government are going to actively support the expansion of Scotland’s beaver population. Beavers do wonders for biodiversity by making rivers more nature-rich and resilient to flooding.
Artist Helen Denerley, with help from the local community, is creating a Gathering Tree sculpture, which is to stand at the heart of the Rewilding Centre, and will be made of recycled materials and scrap metal.
Landward’s Dougie Vipond interviewed Steve Micklewright about the 30-year plan to rewild a huge area of the cental Highlands, Glen Affric. Watch the interview here.
You can find further details on all of the above plus information on their bat roosting spots and fundraising to expand and improve trails at Dundeggan here.
