Stagecoach Grotto Bus Brings Festive Cheer to Highlands Children

Stagecoach has been visiting schools in the Highlands this week in a specially decorated grotto bus driven by Santa himself.

Schools in Alness, Dingwall, Inverness, Cromarty and Grantown on Spey have had visits so far, with further visits scheduled for Friday.

This initiative was championed by Inverness bus driver Frank Howitt, who wanted to bring Christmas cheer to as many local kids as possible this year. Schools were nominated by Stagecoach staff initially, with the aim of visiting as many as possible during the week.

Stagecoach North Scotland Marketing Manager, Kirsty Scott, said: “Frank and his squad of helpers have done a cracking job of planning these visits, giving up their own free time to decorate the bus, and driving to and from the schools each day. None of this would have been possible without them. We’re very proud to have such wonderful, kind-hearted people working for Stagecoach.”

The Stagecoach grotto bus will be making its final stop for the year at the Ross County FC Christmas Market in Dingwall this Saturday (14th December). There will be a Cash for Kids Mission Christmas donation box on board to collect new, unwrapped gifts for children in the area who otherwise won’t receive a gift on Christmas morning.

Stagecoach services will be temporarily changing over the Christmas and New Year period across the Highlands. Find out more here.
