Fresh from its success at the Highland Business Awards, Parklands Care Homes is in the running for seven national care awards, recognising innovation, community engagement and excellence in care.
In the Leaders in Care Awards, taking place in October, Parklands is shortlisted for Innovation in Care Homes and Care Home Provider of the Year. Managing Director Ron Taylor is also a finalist for Executive of the Year, recognising his more than 30 years of dedication to the care sector.
The group has also been shortlisted in four categories at the Caring UK Awards in December. Parklands is up for both the Community Activity Award and the prestigious Care Group of the Year. Eilean Dubh care home in Fortrose is also recognised in two categories – Regional Care Home (Scotland) and Activities Team.
Ron Taylor, Managing Director of Parklands Care Homes, said: “These nominations are a wonderful recognition of the commitment and creativity of our teams across the Parklands group. Every day they go above and beyond to support our residents and strengthen our links with local communities. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and delighted to see that work recognised locally and on the national stage.”
The latest nominations follow Parklands’ recent win at the Highland Business Awards, where the group received the Corporate Community Impact Award for its long-standing commitment to strengthening community links and supporting grassroots projects across the north and north-east.
Accepting the award on behalf of Parklands, Alexis Le Neven, Manager of Eilean Dubh care home, said: “This award means so much for Parklands. Our residents have spent their lives supporting their communities, so it’s vital we keep those links strong. Thank you to all our teams, and especially our wellbeing coordinators, for their amazingly creative and innovative ideas.”
Emily Christie, a 20-year-old carer at Wakefield House in Cullen, was shortlisted for Young Employee of the Year. Although unsuccessful, she is already regarded as a rising star within Parklands.
