On behalf of the Members, Board and Staff of Inverness Chamber of Commerce I wish to express our profound shock and deep sadness following the death of Her Majesty the Queen. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family at this time.
Her Majesty was Patron of the British Chambers of Commerce for over 70 years. The Queen became Patron of the BCC on the 23 June 1952, a few months after her ascension to the British throne on 6 February 1952. The Queen’s longstanding affection for Scotland and her people has been widely reported since her death and it is very fitting that Scotland will have a special opportunity to mark Her Majesty’s passing over the next few days.
Out of respect for Her Majesty, we will be pausing all social media activity until after the State Funeral on Monday 19th September, which has been declared a Bank Holiday. While we will be operating normally until then all activities will be carried out in a respectful manner, and our office will be closed on the 19th.
Stewart Nicol
Chief Executive
