Parklands Nominated for a Hat-Trick of UK Care Awards

Parklands Care Homes has been nominated for three top UK care awards, recognising its commitment to high-quality care, community support, and investment in new facilities.

Parklands has been shortlisted in this year’s Care Home Awards for Outstanding Smaller Group Care Provider and Best for Wellbeing, an accolade it won last year. It is also a finalist in the HealthInvestor Awards for Residential Elderly Care Provider of the Year – Medium Group.

The nominations reflect Parklands’ ongoing improvements in care delivery, as demonstrated in recent Care Inspectorate reports. The majority of Parklands homes are now rated very good by the independent regulator.

They also recognise Parklands’ focus on resident wellbeing and community engagement, with homes offering a range of activities that promote social interaction, physical health, and mental wellbeing. These include live music, dancing, gardening, cinema, photography, and intergenerational programmes with schools, nurseries, and playgroups, such as Earthtime, a Moray-based charity running outdoor playgroups for children at several Parklands homes.

A key factor in the submissions was Parklands’ commitment to meeting the growing demand for care places through significant investment in new facilities. The £11 million, 58-bed Pittyvaich Care Home opened in Inverness in 2025, with plans underway for a new £13 million, 60-bed care home in Turriff, along with the expansion of existing homes in Tain, Fortrose, Grantown, Keith, and Huntly at a cost of £5 million. Together, these investments will add 152 new beds between 2025 and 2027.

Ron Taylor, Managing Director of Parklands Care Homes, said, “We are honoured to receive these nominations, which recognise the hard work and dedication of our staff. For over 30 years, Parklands has worked to ensure that people in the north of Scotland receive the best care possible, and we are proud to continue that tradition by investing in new homes, expanding capacity where it is most needed, and creating new job opportunities to support local communities.”
