Parklands Care Homes has been shortlisted for four awards at the Stars of Social Care Awards, with nominations recognising the group, teams and individuals across the Highlands and Moray.
The Parklands group is a finalist in the Outstanding Care Home Provider category, recognising its high care standards, investment in staff and continued growth across the north.
Eight of Parklands’ 13 homes are rated ‘Very Good’ by the Care Inspectorate, with the remainder rated ‘Good’, with inspection reports highlighting compassionate care, strong leadership and positive community relationships.
Elsewhere in the group, Glenisla Care Home in Keith has been shortlisted for the Above and Beyond Award following a recent initiative focused on improving residents’ nutrition and hydration.
At Innis Mhor Care Home in Tain, Manager, Kate Walker, and Head Cook, Fiona Ross, have also been named finalists in the Inspirational Care Manager and Care Home Nutrition categories respectively.
Brenda Harper, Manager at Glenisla Care Home, said, “I’m extremely proud of the Glenisla team for this nomination. It reflects the values, teamwork and commitment to person-centred care they show every day. This recognition belongs to the whole team, who go above and beyond for our residents and for one another.”
Kate Walker said, “I’m so appreciative of this nomination. To be recognised in this way is a wonderful feeling. I’m lucky to have a job where I can make a difference. I’m incredibly grateful for the team around me and especially pleased to see Fiona recognised too.”
Parklands Operations Director, Jacqui Ferguson, added, “We’re really pleased to be shortlisted at a national level, especially given the strength of competition in these awards. It’s fantastic to see the team at Glenisla recognised, along with Kate and Fiona at Innis Mhor. Their nominations say a lot about the care, teamwork and commitment across our homes. It means a lot to see that recognised.”
The Parklands group operates 13 care homes across the Highlands, Moray and Aberdeenshire. The winners will be announced at the Stars of Social Care Awards ceremony in London next month, hosted by This Morning presenter Josie Gibson.
