The Port of Inverness is delighted to announce that Russell Thomson has been co-opted as a Trustee of Inverness Harbour Trust with effect from 1st February 2025 for one year. Russell has been appointed to replace Alison Wilson who has stepped down from the board after completing her term as a Trustee.
Commenting on the appointment, Trust Chair George Macleod said, “I am delighted that Russell has accepted the position as a Trustee for the next 12-months. His experience and knowledge of not only the Port but the wider maritime industry will be invaluable to us as we progress the opportunities arising from our involvement in the Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport. I would like to express thanks to Alison on behalf of everyone at the Port for her input during her time as a Trustee and wish her all the best in the future. “
Russell previously served on the board and was head of Operations for Scottish Canals from 2014 until his retirement in 2022. Since then, Russell has developed his own consultancy business focusing on port and maritime operations.
