Member of the Week: Elastic Creative – Part 2

At Inverness Chamber of Commerce, we recognise that a strong brand is one of the most powerful tools any organisation can invest in.  That’s why we’re proud to showcase Elastic Creative, a member whose work demonstrates just how transformational branding can be.

Brand power helps organisations to solve challenges

Much more than a pretty face, a well-considered and implemented brand brings about real change – change that businesses feel every day, at every level, right through to the bottom line.

Elastic combines creativity, strategy, and technical skills to build brands that resonate with and inspire both internal and external audiences.  Their work shows that:

  • Brand aligns business strategy and internal teams
  • Brand creates visibility and memorability
  • Brand differentiates in competitive markets
  • Brand inspires trust and advocacy
  • Brand attracts and retains top talent
  • Brand streamlines customer acquisition and lowers costs
  • Brand increases customer lifetime value
  • Brand facilitates market expansion and innovation
  • Brand rallies support for change and new projects

Changing Behaviour

Elastic finds particular satisfaction in developing campaign brands that aim to change behaviour – especially in areas that impact health and wellbeing.

They’ve tackled critical challenges such as:

  • Encouraging at-risk populations to get tested for HIV
  • Helping professionals recognise signs of mental health issues in colleagues
  • Inspiring national action to reverse the negative effects of edtech on children’s health and learning

Inspiring Life and Career Changes

Elastic is currently collaborating with the Caithness Chamber of Commerce team to develop two sister brands and websites with a cohesive visual identity.  These brands work in synergy to position the North Highlands as a unique destination for living, working, thriving, and exploring.  The whole Elastic team is engaged in this project, and it has been a joy to see it taking shape.

Introducing Guy Connell, Co-owner and Creative Director

As Co-owner and Creative Director, Guy Connell ensures that Elastic’s projects are managed smoothly and delivered with a high level of quality and impact.

Their in-house team of brand strategists, designers, digital developers, animators, filmmakers, and digital marketers has the passion, expertise, and experience to deliver real transformation.

Guy explains, “Some projects are small and singular; others are large and delivered on a monthly retainer.  But all receive the same attention to detail to ensure they achieve their goals.  Whether it’s a dynamic website, engaging video, digital advertising, or a summary of brand principles in detailed guidelines, I take pride in managing the flow of projects through our talented team.  My role is to ensure every element works seamlessly together to deliver the impact our clients expect.”

Introducing Alex Kirby, Co-owner and Managing Director

Alex Kirby brings global perspective and a deep passion for creative business.  Growing up in Canada offered him broad opportunity, but his Scottish heritage drew him home – and for the past 30 years, he’s made Scotland his base for creative impact.

As Managing Director at Elastic, Alex focuses on financial management and business operations – freeing up his co-directors and the team to focus on doing what they do best: creating brilliant brands.

“For me, it’s all about enabling creativity to flourish and helping our clients achieve standout success.  Receiving client feedback means a great deal. It’s a motivating reminder of the impact our work has on people’s lives and businesses- and it fuels our passion for developing new ways to help them transform their brand impact.”

Client Testimonials

It’s clear from their client feedback that Elastic’s creative work delivers both beauty and business results:

“Working with Elastic is a pleasure.  They had a clear understanding of our brief from the outset and showed a deep understanding of what drives people to visit our little town of Dornoch.  From new branding to a refreshed website, the designs are beautiful as much as they tell our story.” – Claire Bruce, Dornoch BID

“The Elastic team are a powerhouse of creativity and professionalism.  They understand what is happening culturally and how a business can tap into that.”Sarah Woodcock,  HSPC

“Our new brand identity is refreshingly different, energetic, modern—but respectful of our 170-year-old heritage.” Richard MacDonald, Keppie

We’re proud to spotlight Elastic Creative as our Member of the Week and look forward to seeing their continued impact across the Highlands and beyond.  Their work proves that brand, done right, is more than surface – it’s strategy, culture, performance, and transformation in action.
