One of the Highlands’ most popular hotels is celebrating after receiving a leading accolade from the world’s largest travel guidance platform, Tripadvisor.
Macdonald Drumossie Hotel has been recognised in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards for 2025, placing the hotel among the top 10% of listings around the world on Tripadvisor.
Tripadvisor is the world’s largest travel site, available in 49 markets worldwide and 28 different languages. It offers advice on services and facilities, such as restaurants and hotels, from millions of travellers and records an average of 490 million unique visitors each month.
Visitors to the Art Deco venue – located on the outskirts of Inverness – have left hundreds of positive comments commending Macdonald Drumossie Hotel for its high levels of quality and service.
This accolade is based on genuine feedback and ratings from anyone who has visited and left an authentic, first-hand review on Tripadvisor over the past 12 months.

In 2023, Macdonald Drumossie Hotel was named employer of the year at the Highland Business Awards and then clinched tourism and hospitality employer of the year at the Highlands & Islands Thistle Awards.
Judges were impressed by the introduction of weekly workshops to enhance skills, a culture that encourages staff to experiment, a modern apprenticeship scheme that retains and develops talented young people, and the hotel’s commitment to creating rewarding career pathways.
