Inverness Chamber of Commerce Appoints Marc Wilson as New President

Inverness Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of Marc Wilson as its new President, following the conclusion of Eunice McAdam’s term. Marc’s appointment was confirmed at today’s (25 April) Annual General Meeting. The Chamber is also delighted to welcome Hilary Clelland, Partner at Saffery, to the Board.

Marc takes on the role after serving on the Chamber’s Board since 2020. A proud native of Inverness, he is currently Head of Marketing and Engagement at High Life Highland, where he leads strategic communications across the region, promoting access to health, wellbeing, learning, and culture. With more than 17 years’ experience in marketing and communications in private and public sector companies, Marc brings valuable leadership and insight to the Chamber’s work.

Colin Marr, Chief Executive of Inverness Chamber of Commerce, said, “We are deeply grateful to Eunice for her exceptional service, steady leadership and support throughout her time on the Board. Her contribution has been invaluable, and her presence will be greatly missed.

“We warmly welcome Marc as our new President. He brings a deep understanding of the region and a strong commitment to championing our members. Marc will play a vital role in the delivery of our new three-year strategy, providing strategic direction and ensuring that our member companies are strongly represented in key decision-making processes.

Commenting on his appointment, Marc Wilson said, “It is a great honour and privilege to be taking up the role of President of the Inverness Chamber of Commerce. As a lifelong resident of Inverness, I take immense pride in witnessing the success of our city’s people and businesses, as well as those in the broader region.

“The core purpose of the Inverness Chamber of Commerce is to make our members more successful. Together with the Board and the Chamber team, I look forward to playing my part in contributing towards the success of our members and the local business community during my term.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to Eunice for her exemplary leadership and dedicated service as President. Her time on the Board has been characterised by her commitment and invaluable contributions. Eunice is highly respected and well-connected within our local business community, and her presence and insights on the Board will be missed.”

Outgoing President Eunice McAdam steps down after seven years of dedicated service on the Board, including two years as President. She said, “It has been a privilege to serve the business community through my work on the Board, and particularly as President over the last two years. I’ve seen first-hand the dedication of the Chamber team and the value it brings to its members. I’m delighted that Marc Wilson is stepping into the role – his knowledge, energy and passion for Inverness and the Highlands make him the ideal person to take the Chamber forward.”

As Eunice steps down, the Chamber also welcomes a new addition to the Board. Recognising the importance of financial expertise at Board level, the Chamber sought nominations from its membership for a qualified accountant and is pleased to confirm the appointment of Hilary Clelland, a Partner at Saffery, to this position. Hilary brings strong financial insight and deep knowledge of the local business landscape, further strengthening the Board’s capacity to support members.

The Chamber looks forward to working with Marc and Hilary as it continues to deliver on its commitment to support, connect and represent businesses across the Highlands.
