UK top 50 and leading Scottish law firm Brodies LLP has promoted Inverness-based commercial services lawyer Ally Burr to senior associate.
His promotion is part of the latest round of internal appointments for Brodies, which also sees the promotion of seven new partners across the firm.
Ally, who joined Brodies in 2023, specialises in matters relating to intellectual property, technology, commercial contracts and data protection. He is also a member of the firm’s AI taskforce.
Brodies partner Alison Bryce said: “Ally’s promotion to senior associate is testament to his experience and expertise in intellectual property and commercial services matters. His knowledge on technology and data protection is of particular value to clients operating in sectors including life sciences, energy and food and drink, and businesses also continue to benefit from his insights into the developing world of generative AI and the opportunities and challenges that presents.”
The latest promotions come as disputes partner Iain Rutherford becomes the firm’s new chair, succeeding Christine O’Neill KC who steps down from the position having completed four three-year terms.
