Inside Stories at Maggies's Highlands

Inside Stories at Maggie’s Highlands

“It’s a beautiful building but it’s so much more than that thanks to the amazing people that offer so much support to those affected by cancer,” said Colin Marr, Inverness Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive.

Last night we hosted our first Inside Stories event of the year with Maggie’s Highlands. Thank you to everyone that came to hear more about the centre, meet its amazing team and understand more fully about the wide range of services and support the they offer.

Andrew Benjamin from Maggie’s, alongside his colleagues, welcomed guests, emphasising that, “We want people to come here and feel at home.”

Throughout the evening we were guided around the building while hearing about the huge variety of support the centre offers. From helping to understand the complexities of the disease and accessing benefits and finance, to workshops for families including children, and its free ‘Cancer in the Workplace’ sessions that businesses can access to help their staff – Maggie’s gives complete end-to-end support and advice for everyone.

We also heard about the vast amount of money it takes to keep its services running every year. To find out more about how you can support Maggie’s Highlands visit its website at www.maggies.org/our-centres/maggies-highlands/

Our next Inside Stories will be a breakfast event at The Ledge, the Highland’s largest climbing gym and a National Bouldering and Performance Centre on Tuesday 16 April. For further details and to book, head over to the event page on our website.
