Local businesses on highway to helping babies, children and families across the Highlands
Two Highland businesses are taking The Archie Foundation’s message to the highways and byways of Scotland – using a fleet of branded trucks to raise awareness of the charity’s work across the North.
Specialist hauliers Barclay & Daughters and solicitor and estate agent Munro & Noble have joined forces for the initiative, which will see the charity’s logo and messaging proudly displayed on trucks travelling across Scotland and beyond.
The collaboration builds on years of fundraising and awareness campaigns by both businesses, which have collectively raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for The Archie Foundation.
The charity provides financial and practical support to babies, children and families during a hospital visit or following a bereavement.
Its work includes the Highland Children’s Unit at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
For the past six years, Barclay & Daughters has offered “truck name dedications” at The Archie Foundation’s Highland fundraising events such as the Prosecco Picnic and Moonlight Ball organised by Munro and Noble.
Steven Barclay, managing director of Barclay & Daughters, said, “We are proud to use our trucks to help spread The Archie Foundation’s message far and wide. They are on the road every day, so it’s a simple but powerful way to drive awareness and funds for a cause that makes a real difference to local children and families.”
Based in Inverness, the haulier is a family-run business with more than 25 years of experience in delivering specialised services all across the UK.
Mary Nimmo is a senior partner at Munro & Noble and was recently appointed as a patron of Archie alongside her husband William, after several years as a trustee.
“The Archie Foundation is a cause that’s very close to our hearts. Working with Barclay & Daughters on this project means we can combine our resources and passion to fuel a charity that is there for families when they need it most,” she said.
Neil McGregor, the charity’s business development and fundraising manager for the Highlands, said the support from corporate partners was so important.
“We are so grateful to Barclay & Daughters and Munro & Noble for their incredible support over many years,” he said. “This partnership keeps us moving forward, raising essential funds and helping ensure our message reaches thousands of people every week, so we can continue making a difference for children and families when they need it most.”
