Guest Blog: Become a Growing2gether Partner and Help Build Better Futures for Young People, and for Scotland

Growing2gether, the unique charity recently spotlighted in the Scottish Parliament, is looking for corporate partners who share their vision to give young people a better future, regardless of the disadvantage they face.

We are reaching out to local companies to raise the £30,000 we need to continue to support children, their families and their communities in the Highlands.

Growing2gether has empowered over 3,000 of Scotland’s most vulnerable young people and children since 2017, mostly in the Highlands. Our model is unique: we are Scotland’s only programme, using Positive and Transpersonal psychology,  that trains vulnerable young people to become mentors to nursery children with social and personal challenges, so both benefit. As young people struggle with mental health now more than ever, this empowerment ripples through the schools, at home and across communities. And the young people become leaders who continue giving back to their communities.

Our impact on young people is proven to:

  • Improve mental health
  • Increase life skills and social connection
  • Offer greater optimism about their futures

Our  impact is also recognised by the Scottish government: ‘We know that young people with adverse childhood experiences need …  opportunities to discover the amazing things about themselves that the world has told them aren’t there. … We know [Growing2gether] works,’ said MSP Emma Roddick, who devoted her member’s time in Parliament to share how impacted she’d been on a visit to one of our Highland programmes.

‘If we want to tackle the attainment gap, if we want more young people in positive destinations [work/education], and if we want them to be genuinely involved in their community and feel a responsibility to it, this is not an opportunity we can ignore.’

We are looking for partners to stand with us – businesses who share our vision and want to positively impact young lives. Tangible benefits for your business are:

Brand-awareness and CSR opportunities for your company

  • Powerful CSR storytelling – case studies and videos that showcase your business at the heart of our results-oriented programmes.
  • PR opportunities through our Youth Social Action Projects, where young people create community projects to benefit their community, and  which have wide regional/national reach.
  • Brand visibility on our website, and material for your social media platforms.

Staff development

  • Training in the transpersonal and positive psychology approach that uniquely underpins all of our programmes – building resilience and stronger team dynamics.
  • Team volunteering opportunities – from nursery projects to community initiatives.

Community connection

  • Meet our young people through VIP visits – so you can see your impact firsthand.
  • Apprenticeship and mentoring pathways – connect your business directly to emerging young talent.

How your partnership can support us

  • Fund a Nursery Mentoring programme: £12,000 supports 8 secondary school young people,  who mentor 8 children, ensuring they thrive.
  • Fund one Mentor placement:  £3,000 supports a vulnerable young person and a disadvantaged child through their mentoring journey.
  • Sponsor our Youth Social Action programmes: £12,000 will build the work skills and aspiration for the young leaders who will become your future employees.

Or talk to us about becoming an overarching strategic partner, associated with all Growing2gether programmes across Scotland.

Work with us to help create positive opportunities for future generations in Scotland. Together we can create meaningful change in schools, homes and across Highland communities.
