Go Flourish were delighted to have some helping hands from Morrison Construction this week in their pilot school garden at North Kessock Primary School. Mia, Glenda & Lorna helped to shift a huge amount of compost and woodchip, dug in posts, removed rocks, moved raspberries, weeded, filled up the pond with stones, moved the beech hedge & helped with planting. Despite the rain and grey skies, it didn’t dampen their enthusiasm and Mia Keith from Morrisons Construction said ‘It was a fab day, well organised and so much fun’.
The Go Flourish Garden serves not only as a curriculum-learning space for all the children at the school but also as a community space outside of school hours. It is a beautiful space that everyone is welcome to enjoy, share and nurture and it does take many hands to help keep the garden going and the team are always glad of extra help.
Go Flourish will continue with their work at North Kessock Primary School and will soon by moving to Dalneigh Primary School in the new year. Project Coordinator Lyn McLardy said ‘We had a great day with Morrison Construction and think we all enjoyed being away from the desk for the day! We welcome any other local businesses who would like to share their skills, resources and volunteer time along’.
