The Archie Foundation fundraiser will raise money for babies, children and families in the Highlands and beyond.
The Archie Foundation is calling for people in the Highlands of all ages and abilities to get moving this March, as it launches sign-ups for its annual Marathon March fundraiser.
The charity challenge encourages participants to move a mile every day throughout March, with the goal of reaching an ultra-marathon distance across the month.
Whether you’re a regular runner, fancy a leisurely stroll, move on wheels or even want to swim, the fundraiser is an inclusive event that welcomes people however they want to join in.
All the proceeds will go to Archie to support babies, children and families in the north of Scotland, including the Highland Children’s Unit at Raigmore Hospital and across the wider Highlands and Islands.
Neil McGregor, Archie’s Business Development and Fundraising Manager for the Highlands, said, “We’re really excited to launch this year’s appeal for our Marathon March Fundraiser – and you can get involved at any point during the month.
There’s nothing more heartwarming than watching our supporters come together to take part in such an important cause for all the babies, children, and families we support.
Marathon March is one of our most popular community fundraisers because it’s simple, flexible and brings people together for a shared purpose. With the rising demand for our services across the area, whether that’s financial or emotional support for children and families who are going through a difficult time, fundraising events like Marathon March are more important than ever.”
Archie has helped children and families across the north of Scotland for 25 years, funding specialist roles and projects at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and, more recently, at the Highland Children’s Unit, Tayside Children’s Hospital and Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin.
