Moray Firth Training Group, based on Harbour Road in Inverness, is proudly celebrating 60 years in business, having been established in 1966.
Originally founded by local Highland businesses to provide garage and engineering apprenticeships across the region, Moray Firth Training Group has grown significantly over the past six decades. Today, the organisation delivers Motor Vehicle Apprenticeships in partnership with local garages, working alongside Skills Development Scotland through the Modern Apprenticeship Frameworks to achieve SVQ Level 3 qualifications.
Their purpose‑built workshops and premises in Inverness enable apprentices from across the Highlands and Islands, including Shetland, Orkney, Fort William, Speyside and Skye, to complete their training on a block‑release basis over three years.
In addition to apprenticeships, they offer a wide range of professional and compliance‑based training, including MOT New Tester and MOT Manager courses, Electric Vehicle training, Abrasive Wheel courses, and Mental Health First Aid courses, all delivered in‑centre.
The organisation is also recognised as one of the largest private First Aid training providers in the Highlands, having trained over 22,000 people. Their extensive portfolio supports employers in meeting their statutory training obligations, helping to build safer and more skilled workplaces across the region.
Moray Firth Training Group also provides room hire facilities, supporting other businesses and organisations with their own requirements.
Their mission is clear: “To provide the best and most cost‑effective training in the north by continually developing our staff and facilities in order to exceed our customers’ expectations.”
