An Inverness and Elgin-based insurance broking firm is marking its first anniversary as part of the TL Dallas Group with strong growth, the creation of eight new jobs and a series of key client wins in the agricultural and real estate sectors.
Caledonia Dallas, which operates from offices in Inverness and Elgin, joined the independent, family-owned TL Dallas Group in 2024. Since then, it has invested in new talent and expanded its client base across the Highlands and Moray.
Paul Chiffers, Head of Office and a broker with more than 15 years’ experience, said,
“This has been a milestone year. Being part of TL Dallas has given us the backing to grow whilst keeping the independence that matters so much in local markets. We’ve built a strong team, retained more than 95% of existing business, won some major new clients; and are proud to support the communities where we live and work.”
As part of its local commitment, the firm supports a wide range of organisations including Elgin City FC, Highland Rugby Club, Wick Academy FC, and Inverness Caledonian Thistle. It is also a member of the Inverness, Caithness and Moray Chambers of Commerce, reinforcing its role in the regional economy.

Caledonia Dallas has a long history in the Highlands and Moray. The Inverness office, first established in 1998 as Clark Thomson Insurance Brokers, grew through the acquisition of several well-regarded local firms. The Elgin base was strengthened by the addition of Crammond Insurance Consultants and George S Hay & Co, later consolidating into a single office.
In 2024, the Inverness and Elgin team of 32 became part of the TL Dallas Group and rebranded the business as Caledonia Dallas; cementing its presence in the north of Scotland. Today, Caledonia Dallas provides commercial, personal and specialist insurance solutions across all industry sectors including agriculture, hospitality, construction, and renewable energy. All claims are handled in-house by its team, ensuring clients receive a personal, expert service.
