Board Vacancies at the Port of Inverness

The Port of Inverness is looking to recruit up to three non-executive Trustees from 1st February, 2026. The Port’s profile has grown considerably over the last few years and it is a founding member of the Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport. As well as handling a wide range of dry bulk cargos, the Port is also one of the main focal points for the renewable energy industry in the Highlands.

George Macleod, Chair of Inverness Harbour Trust said ‘The Port’s strategic vision is bold and exciting, and as part of the Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport the Port is at the heart of the region’s transition to net zero. We will be looking for people who can help shape and direct the Port’s vision.’

Applicants should ideally have one of the following: strategic business management experience, a financial background or have maritime knowledge/experience from being at sea or in a ports’ environment. The Board values the benefit of having different points of view and experiences and it is hoped that a wide range of applications will be received.

Appointments are part-time, normally two days per month with a minimum of six Board meetings per annum. Induction and training will be available to the appointed individual. An application form and information pack is available at www.portofinverness.co.uk/about/board-vacancy
