Parklands first to receive Highland Pride community award

Parklands Care Homes has become the first organisation to receive Highland Pride’s Community Ally Award in recognition of its ongoing commitment to inclusion and diversity.

The award recognises Parklands’ support for Highland Pride since 2023, together with its efforts to promote inclusion through Parklands Pride, a programme of live music and community events held across its care homes and community venues in the Highlands and Moray.

The award was presented during this year’s Parklands Pride celebrations at Pittyvaich care home in Inverness.

Simon Allison, Chair of Highland Pride, said, “We wanted to recognise both Parklands’ consistent and generous support of the work that we do, year in, year out, and the fact that it has put on not just one event, but many events across the Parklands Care Homes group. We felt this demonstrated a real conviction behind Parklands’ belief in the Pride movement.”

Donald Morrison, Director of Communications at Parklands Care Homes, said, “We’re incredibly proud to receive this award from Highland Pride. At Parklands, we believe everyone should feel welcome, valued and able to be themselves. Inclusion isn’t something we celebrate on just one day. It’s part of the culture across all of our homes.”
