A Stagecoach bus driver who has spent years helping Caley Thistle supporters get to matches has been recognised for his contribution to the club by presenting the Man of the Match award at the first home game of the season.
Neil Cameron, who has been a Stagecoach employee for almost 14 years and a long-standing Inverness Caledonian Thistle supporter, was invited by the club’s Supporters Association to present the award following Saturday’s Premier Sports Cup penalty shootout win over East Fife at the Sarens PSG Stadium.
The award went to teenage midfielder Alfie Stewart, who impressed on his return to the club on loan from Aberdeen and played a key role in the curtain raiser to the 2026/27 season.
Neil has become a familiar face to Caley Thistle fans through his role driving the supporter service from Inverness city centre to the stadium on matchdays – helping supporters travel to games safely and conveniently.
What began as a shuttle service has grown in popularity, particularly following the club’s successful push for promotion last season, with increasing numbers of supporters using the service on matchdays.
David Beaton, Managing Director for Stagecoach North Scotland, said, “We’re proud of our partnership with Caley Thistle and it was brilliant to see Neil get recognition from the Supporters Association for the vital role he plays on matchdays: transporting supporters from the city centre to the stadium.
“Neil does it because he loves the club and he is a real asset to Stagecoach. Our partnership with the club means a lot and we were proud to be part of the journey back up to the Championship last season, and we’re looking forward to what can be achieved during the upcoming campaign.
