UK Certificate of Origin
A Certificate of Origin is a declaration of origin which certifies that the goods in question are manufactured or produced within the UK and this is a customs clearance requirement in some countries.
EUR1 Movement Certificate
An EUR1 Movement Certificate enables the importer (buyer) to import goods at a reduced rate or nil rate by way of claiming preferential rates of duty in the country of importation. In order to obtain an EUR1, the goods must originate in the UK and must meet the rules of origin outlined in the individual Free Trade Agreement.
Arab-British Certificates of Origin
Arab-British Certificates of Origin are a special certificate required when exporting to countries which are members of the Arab League. These states include Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somali Democratic Republic, Sudan, Tunisia, United, Arab Emirates, Yemen.
ATA Carnet
An ATA Carnet is an international customs document which allows you to temporarily export commercial samples, professional equipment, goods going to a trade fair or exhibition without paying duty and tax upon import. Without an ATA Carnet, it would be necessary to go through each country’s customs procedures for the temporary admission of goods. This document simplifies the customs formalities by allowing a single document to be used for clearing goods through customs in the countries that are part of the ATA Carnet system.
The ATA Carnet is valid for one year from the date of issue and allows for the movement of the goods shown on the Carnet as many times as required within the 12 month period and to the destination countries applied for.

We also offer electronic certification services that are simple to use and can be completed online through one of the approved platforms. We can certify documents such as invoices, packing lists, Certificates of Conformity and many more.

Client Testimonials
“J Gordon Williamson Limited would like to express its heartfelt thanks to Inverness Chamber for all the expert help and guidance over the last few weeks. After purchasing a major piece of equipment from an Italian company, we were faced with the daunting task of shipping it back to Scotland. We had to ensure that all the relevant customs paperwork was completed accurately ahead of time to facilitate the transport of the machine in three lorry containers. As this importation movement was most definitely outside of our normal operations, we needed a huge amount of direction to enable its successful completion, without incurring additional costs. We contacted the Inverness Chamber of Commerce and spoke to Sarah. Her ability to solve all the various problems that arose due to the language barrier and an inexperienced transport company was vital. She was available whenever we needed support and very quickly became the de facto team leader for this project. During the final few days before shipment every communication went through Sarah to ensure that nothing was missed. We believe that Sarah went above and beyond for us and we definitely lent very heavily on her due to our complete inexperience in this area. From that initial contact and all the way through, Sarah has been nothing short of exceptional. We are extremely grateful to her for her expertly and calmly guiding us through this process. We wanted to send this correspondence to formally recognise the crucial and pivotal role Sarah played in helping us import this machine. She is absolutely a credit to your office.”
Stefanie Moore, Office Manager at J Gordon Williamson, Elgin
Client Testimonials
“AKVA Group Scotland have worked closely with Inverness Chamber of Commerce for a number of years, and have always found the service from Sarah, Changu and the team to be excellent – very responsive with entries always completed in line with our, often short, deadlines, a great eye for detail and also a great source of knowledge and keeping us up to date with changes to legislation as they occur.
Like many businesses, the service Inverness Chamber Customs provides is often overlooked, but it is absolutely critical to our success and I look forward to continuing the fantastic working relationship into the future.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them and their great work to anyone looking for a solution to any international compliance challenges.”
Iain Bennett, Supply Chain Manager at AKVA Group Scotland, Inverness
T1 Transit Documentation
T1 Transit is a customs document which allows movement of goods from the UK to their final destination in the EU, without the need for additional customs paperwork or duty payments at each border. For example, goods travelling by road to Ukraine can enter EU territories such as France, Germany or Poland duty-free and tax-free and these charges will only be incurred at the final destination of delivery. Transit documents are available alongside our export declaration service.
Using TransitNet, we can create and monitor T1 documents on your behalf. TransitNet is a global transit service offered to approved clients. As holder of the Common Transit Convention procedure, SGS will act as Principal and ChamberCustoms will act as the agent.
