Guest Blog:  An Exciting Time to Join ILM Highland

At ILM Highland, we’re in a period of growth and development, with a clear focus on delivering meaningful impact across the Highlands. Our work brings together sustainability, community support, and commercial activity, creating opportunities that benefit both people and the environment.

ILM Highland, founded in 1994, is a social enterprise supporting vulnerable communities across the North of Scotland through home improvement services, employment initiatives, and sustainable retail and recycling operations. With 28 staff and a volunteer network, we reinvest all profits into community support while driving a circular economy through electrical reuse, recycling, and retail activities.

As we continue to expand, we’re growing our team across a number of key areas, including technical, community engagement, and support roles. From repairing and refurbishing electrical goods, to delivering community projects and supporting the organisation behind the scenes, every role contributes to our wider mission of promoting reuse, reducing waste, and strengthening local communities.

It’s an exciting time to join ILM Highland. We’re building on strong foundations, developing new services, and creating opportunities for people to be part of a forward-thinking, purpose-driven organisation. Our team is collaborative, hands-on, and committed to making a difference and we’re looking for individuals who share those values.

Whether you’re technically skilled, community-focused, or looking to grow your career in a supportive environment, there’s an opportunity to be part of something meaningful. Check our our current opportunities here.
