One Big Loch, One Long Ride, One Very Good Cause

Adopt-A-Child UK, based in Culloden, Inverness, is a Christian one-to-one sponsorship programme working hand in hand with sponsors across the world to provide nutritious meals, basic medical and dental care, pastoral and practical care, hope and a future for thousands of under-privileged children and vulnerable adults in Guatemala and Albania.

While sponsorship provides the bulk of their income, they do require extra fundraising to support the day to day running of all the programmes, and are very grateful for those who raise money on their behalf.

On 26th April, one of their UK Directors, David Babb, will be taking on the Loch Ness Etape Challenge in aid of Adopt-A-Child.  David says, “I will be cycling 66 miles around the stunning Loch Ness in this year’s Etape Challenge . While I may pedal hard in the vague hope of spotting Nessie, my true purpose is to raise funds for Adopt-A-Child to help provide food, healthcare, education, and long-term hope for children and families living in real need in Albania and Guatemala.

My legs will ache, the hills will be brutal, and while Nessie almost certainly won’t sponsor me, any funds raised can genuinely change a child’s future.  My target is to raise £1,000 to ensure that more children and families receive the help they need”
