Stagecoach Celebrates Triple Success at Catch the Bus Month Awards

  • Three national awards recognise Stagecoach’s contribution to Catch the Bus Month 2025
  • Honours include Social Buzz, Campaign Excellence and Operator Contribution
  • Recognition highlights the company’s commitment to accessible, sustainable and community-focused bus travel

Stagecoach have secured three national awards from Bus Users UK in recognition of its stand-out contribution to Catch the Bus Month 2025.

The UK-wide campaign marks 50 years of the bus as a lifeline for communities and a key driver of sustainable, accessible travel.

Stagecoach was honoured with awards for Social Buzz, Campaign Excellence and Operator Contribution, reflecting its creative storytelling, strong community partnerships and commitment to supporting reliable, environmentally responsible public transport across Scotland.

Led by Bus Users UK, Catch the Bus Month ran throughout September and showcased the essential role buses play in connecting communities, supporting local economies and reducing congestion and emissions.

Stagecoach North Scotland and South Scotland, which was previously East Scotland and West Scotland up until the unification at the start of November, delivered a wide range of activity across the country, including:

  • Supporting major events such as the International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight, enabling thousands of visitors to travel easily and sustainably.
  • Engaging fans through competitions offering Lewis Capaldi concert tickets at Aberdeen’s P&J Live Arena paired with free bus travel.
  • Promoting the benefits of bus travel through local partnerships across Angus with Angus Council and Bus Users UK.
  • Showcasing next-generation electric bus fleets, including Edinburgh Airport’s first fully electric airport service and 16 new electric buses on the St Andrews–Dundee route.
  • Highlighting Catch the Bus Month at a series of photocalls and events, helping to amplify the campaign’s message nationwide.

Greig Mackay, Director for Scotland at Bus Users UK, said, “Building on the successes of Catch The Bus Month (CTBM) in 2024, Stagecoach demonstrated a clear commitment to the campaign in 2025 to help Bus Users UK highlight how vital our local bus services are in Scotland. Combined with strong social media messaging throughout the month, branding new EV buses along with several passenger engagement events, Catch The Bus Month had even more impact this year! We would like to show our appreciation through these awards to showcase operator involvement and look forward to an even bigger CTBM campaign month next year with Stagecoach.”

Jacqueline Sutherland, Stagecoach’s Head of Marketing North, said, “We’re incredibly proud to receive these three awards – our excellent efforts caught the judges’ attention. Catch the Bus Month is an important moment in the calendar for our industry, and this recognition reflects the passion and dedication of our teams across Scotland. Our campaigns celebrated the essential role of buses; connecting communities, supporting local economies and delivering cleaner, greener travel. We remain committed to making bus travel even more accessible and appealing in 2026 and beyond.”

Both Stagecoach North Scotland and South Scotland will continue to work closely with Bus Users UK, local authorities and community partners to champion sustainable travel and place buses at the heart of Scotland’s future transport network.
