Parklands Care Homes in Keith and Fortrose were bursting with Pride as residents, relatives and staff joined the local community to celebrate diversity.
The celebration was part of Parklands Pride, an annual series of events organised by Parklands Care Homes to promote inclusion across its communities.
In Keith, Longmore Community Hall was the setting for an afternoon of entertainment with performances from local musician Gordon Strathdee, Inverness singer Sugar Browne, Moray drag queen Miss Idah, and the Heartstrings Choir, with includes residents and staff from Speyside and Glenisla care homes in Moray. Pride in Moray also attended the event.
The event also included bingo, a Pride disco and rainbow raffle in aid of Parklands’ charity partner, Mikeysline. With the Parklands group adding its own contribution, a total of £2,450 was raised for the Highland mental health charity, which this year marks its 10th anniversary.

In Fortrose, residents, relatives and staff at Eilean Dubh Care Home were joined by members of the local community for a lively Pride celebration featuring traditional music band Tuath and singer Sugar Browne.
Organiser Donald Morrison, Parklands’ Communications Director, said both events aimed to bring people of all backgrounds together.
He said, “We couldn’t have asked for better performers – they created a fantastic atmosphere and everyone had a great time. It was wonderful to see residents, staff and local people of all ages coming together to celebrate inclusion and friendship. Our thanks go to our dedicated staff, talented performers and everyone who came along to support us. It was a real celebration of community, kindness and local pride.”
