Inverness Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce that Christianna Logan, Director of Customers and Stakeholders at SSEN Transmission, will deliver the keynote address at this year’s Highland Business Awards, taking place on Friday 26 September 2025 at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness.
Christianna is a highly respected senior business leader with over 15 years’ experience in the energy industry. As part of the Transmission Executive Committee at SSEN Transmission, she plays a pivotal role in connecting low-carbon generation across the north of Scotland, working closely with communities, government, and industry to deliver the region’s contribution to the UK’s energy security and clean power ambitions.
Her directorate is responsible for a number of the business’ key activities, including its work on stakeholder engagement and social value, and, recently launched the company’s first £2 million community benefit fund for the north of Scotland, with plans in place for future funding which will exceed £100 million.
On Stakeholder Engagement, the business has recently delivered one of the biggest public consultation exercises that the north of Scotland has ever seen – as it gears up to deliver the new and upgraded critical national infrastructure that is required to unlock the full potential of renewable power in the country. That monumental engagement effort has been formally recognised this year too, with the organisation achieving its highest-ever score – of 95% – in AccountAbility’s independent stakeholder engagement Healthcheck.
Paula Nicol, Head of Events and Deputy Chief Executive at Inverness Chamber of Commerce, said, “We are thrilled to welcome Christianna Logan as keynote speaker for this year’s Highland Business Awards. With the Highlands at the heart of the UK’s green energy transition, her insight into the opportunities and challenges facing our region will be invaluable.
“Christianna’s expertise in stakeholder engagement and her leadership in driving forward sustainability make her an outstanding voice for this event. We know our guests will welcome the opportunity to hear from her directly to better understand the careful balance between energy security, protecting our natural environment and making sure communities are at the heart of SSEN Transmission’s decision making.”
Christianna Logan added, “I am delighted to be joining the Highland Business Awards and to have the chance to engage directly with the business community here in the Highlands. Our work here at SSEN Transmission is rooted in collaboration, and as we deliver the infrastructure needed for a net zero future, we are committed to ensuring that local businesses, communities, and stakeholders share in the opportunities our work creates. I’m really looking forward to talking about how we can work together to maximise the benefits of the energy transition for the region.”
The Highland Business Awards, delivered annually as part of Highland Business Week, celebrate the achievements and success stories of businesses and individuals across the region. The event brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and representatives from every sector, making it a key date in the Highland business calendar.
