Scran Kitchen Fires Up at Eastgate Centre – A Fresh Take on Global Eats, Local Drinks and Laid-Back Vibes

After months behind closed doors, the sizzle is back at the Eastgate Centre. Scran Kitchen, a fresh and vibrant food court concept, will officially open on Saturday 9th August, marking an exciting partnership between the Eastgate Centre and local award-winning hospitality group, Cru Hospitality.

Following a significant six-figure investment, the space has been completely reimagined and redesigned into a modern, welcoming dining destination. Closed since February when the previous operators exited, the area has undergone a major transformation to deliver a brand-new experience for shoppers, locals, and visitors alike.

With a distinct nod to global flavours and street food culture, Scran Kitchen brings a dynamic, marketplace-style vibe to the heart of Inverness. The concept focuses on world food styles, from fiery Asian noodles to cheesy Italian slices, juicy burgers to authentic tacos – all served in a buzzing communal setting.

But it’s not just about the food. A brand-new bar has been built into the concept, offering a stellar selection of local beers and spirits, alongside a curated menu of wines and cocktails. Whether you’re craving a quick pint or a cheeky espresso martini, the drinks list has been designed to complement the casual, inclusive vibe of the space.

Comfort and convenience have been central to the redesign, with new booth seating and flexible dining areas giving guests the option to sit back, socialise or tuck themselves away in cosy corners. And with a modest, competitive price point across the board, Scran Kitchen ensures there’s something for everyone, families, students, workers, and weekend wanderers alike.

“The goal here was simple – make food fun again,” said Scott Murray, CEO of Cru Hospitality. “Scran Kitchen is playful, affordable, and packed with flavour. We’ve got world-class street food and proper Highland hospitality all under one roof. We’re proud to bring this next chapter to life with our friends at Eastgate.”

The opening of Scran Kitchen comes just four months after the successful launch of Scran Café; Cru’s quirky bagel and brunch concept located in the former Fairground unit. Known for its laid-back feel, and bang-on bagel menu, Scran Café has already carved out a loyal following, and the new food court looks set to build on that momentum.

Centre Manager at Eastgate Centre, Chris Kershaw added, “Scran Kitchen is exactly what Inverness needed, a fresh, flexible dining experience that champions local talent and global tastes. The team at Cru Hospitality have smashed it again, and we’re thrilled to see Eastgate’s food scene taken to the next level.”

Scran Kitchen is now open with an exclusive 25% off every visit when you download the CRU Loyalty App. Expect Street food, drinks, and good vibes on the menu all day long.
