The historic Kingsmills Hotel has completed a dramatic transformation of two private dining rooms, elevating the dining experience to new heights. Nestled in the oldest part of the house, the Adams and Macleod Rooms are steeped in history and charm, providing the perfect setting for unforgettable events and celebrations.
“Each of these private rooms have absolutely beautiful features and these transformations celebrate the rich heritage of the rooms and the Kingsmills while adding something very special” said Angus Macleod, Marketing Manager.
The Macleod Room
Positioned prominently at the front of the house, the Macleod Room is bathed in natural light from its original, grand windows. A richly patterned wallpaper, inspired by a 19th century design, complements the room’s historic character. Restored hardwood floors and tall mirrors create a sense of space, while Art Deco-inspired lighting add a contemporary flair, beautifully accentuating the room’s white architectural features.
Angus Macleod describes the room’s versatility: “The Macleod Room has such an uplifting aura and is incredibly popular for weddings and events. By day, it is bright and airy, making it the perfect backdrop for ceremonies or conferences. After dusk, the atmosphere transforms, becoming a warm and inviting space for celebrations and dining experiences.”
The Adams Room
Equally captivating, the Adams Room has undergone its own stunning transformation. Once the house’s drawing room, this space boasts dual-aspect windows, a roaring fire, and a storied past that includes hosting the celebrated poet Robert Burns. Today, a painting of Burns graces the room, paying tribute to its historic significance.
The Adams Room combines the luxury of privacy with the vibrant energy of the Kingsmills. Opening directly into the hotel’s lively lounge, it’s a favourite for gastronomic dining experiences. Inspired by the textures of the Scottish Highlands, the room features rich, woodland-inspired tones, bespoke vintage verdure panels, and soft lighting that adds warmth and dimension.
The Adams & Macleod Rooms can host up to 22 guests comfortably and can be reserved for morning, afternoon or evening events.
