Inverness Chamber leads trade delegation to Ireland

The Inverness Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, is organising a trade mission to Dublin, Ireland, during the week commencing 11 November 2024.

This initiative, supported by the Scottish Government and Scottish Chambers of Commerce, will offer Scottish businesses an opportunity to explore the Irish market, identify new business prospects, and foster connections between Scottish and Irish enterprises. The mission aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences and challenges, ultimately strengthening long-term relationships and opening doors to key partners and stakeholders in Ireland.

This cross-sector mission will include representatives from different industries, including Candles from the Croft, Stag Bakeries, Blowin’ Free, Kingpin International, Rybka, Kelvin TOP-SET, Ide8, and SD Wind Energy. Delegates will visit Dublin, participate in briefings to help them understand the local market conditions and legal frameworks, and engage in networking sessions with potential partners. A central component of the mission will be one-to-one meetings with Irish businesses, organised by the Chamber team, to explore collaborative opportunities.

The mission underscores the importance of trade between Ireland and the UK, with Ireland already serving as the UK’s largest export destination.

Colin Marr, Chief Executive of Inverness Chamber of Commerce explains, “I am excited to lead this trade mission and represent Scottish businesses in Ireland, a market with which we already share a strong trading relationship. This mission will provide Scottish companies with the opportunity to connect with potential partners, buyers, and suppliers, while experiencing firsthand the quality and professionalism of Irish businesses.

“Ireland’s economy is thriving, with significant exports to major markets such as the EU and the USA. With its proximity to these markets and rich potential, now is the ideal time for Scottish businesses to explore opportunities in Ireland.

“We look forward to visiting Dublin and establishing relationships with dynamic Irish businesses eager to collaborate with Scotland.”
