North care provider Parklands Care Homes is in the running for seven national awards.
The care firm, which has 12 homes in the Highlands, Moray and Aberdeenshire, is competing in the Care Home Awards, The Stars of Social Care Awards and the Proud Scotland Awards.
The nominations span a wide range of topics including care quality, communication, wellbeing and diversity.
Ron Taylor, who founded Parklands in 1993, has been shortlisted in The Stars of Social Care Awards for the Outstanding Contribution to Care Home Award, in recognition of his 30 year contribution to social care. The same awards have shortlisted Weston View in Keith, which only became part of the Parklands group in September 2023, for its efforts to drive up care standards.
Parklands’ use of digital media, including its new podcast series Carecast, sees the group shortlisted in the Care Home Awards. Meanwhile, the group’s commitment to resident’s wellbeing through meaningful and person-centred activities, sees Parklands shortlisted in the Care Home Awards and The Stars of Social Care Awards.
Parklands’ commitment to diversity and inclusivity, demonstrated last summer through its ground-breaking Parklands Pride festival and support for Highland Pride and Pride in Moray, sees the group nominated for a Proud Scotland Award.
Parklands has also been shortlisted in the Care Home Awards in the Outstanding Smaller Care Provider (up to 25 homes) category, an award it won in 2020.
Ron Taylor, managing director of Parklands, said: “Being shortlisted for seven national awards is truly magnificent, reflecting the dedication and passion of our entire team at Parklands. We are honoured to be recognised for our commitment to providing exceptional care and fostering inclusivity and wellbeing within our care homes.
“I want to particularly congratulate the Weston View team for their outstanding efforts to raise care standards, evident in their recent Care Inspectorate report, and our inventive activities teams. From pop-up tea-rooms to podcasts, playgroups to Pride events, Parklands’ homes are not just places of care but vibrant communities where engaging, creative, and meaningful activities thrive, enriching the lives of our residents every day.”
