For the next event in our series of Inside Stories, join us at The Ledge on Tuesday the 16th of April to hear the story behind the gym’s inception and why it is more than just a climbing wall. The Ledge directors will tell us about the inspiring work they do in the local community and how they have created a safe and inclusive environment for young people in the Highlands.
The Ledge is the Highland’s largest climbing gym and a National Bouldering and Performance Centre built on the foundations of community, inclusivity and positivity. A registered Scottish charity dedicated to changing lives for the better via the medium of climbing, The Ledge sees climbing as more than just an activity – it’s a shared experience held in a fun and supportive space designed to help people identify and achieve their goals.
Chief Executive of Inverness Chamber of Commerce, Colin Marr, who met with The Ledge team late last year to present them with their Membership Certificate said:
“I was amazed when I met the team at The Ledge. Of course, they offer a brilliant climbing experience, including the route that will be used at the Olympics this summer, but I was amazed to hear about the charitable work they do – especially with their local community. I was also fascinated to find out how they can set walls to target individual muscle groups which can be great for rehab after an accident.
This will be networking with a difference – you’ll hear all about the Ledge and everything they do – but could there be a better way to break the ice with your business peers than trying (and maybe failing) to meet one of the wall challenges.”
Take an exclusive behind the scenes tour, enjoy a breakfast roll and a hot drink while connecting with fellow Chamber Members, before tackling the wall yourself!
