This is an exciting time for Inverness Chamber of Commerce. Last year we appointed a new CEO and four new Directors, and we are currently devising our strategy for the next five years.
The Chamber is run for the benefit of our members. Our Directors therefore play a vital role in ensuring that our member companies are represented in our decision making, as well as providing our strategic direction and reviewing our financial and operational performance.
At the Chamber’s 2024 AGM on Friday 26 April, a number of the current Directors reach the end of their term on the Board. So, we are inviting nominations from our membership for new Directors.
Do you have ambitions for Highland businesses and ideas on how we deliver our services? If you think you can represent your whole business sector, not just yourself and your business, then we’d be delighted to hear from you.
Anyone with appropriate experience and employed with a member business, that has been in membership for at least one year, is eligible and we would welcome interest from all Chamber members.
At the moment, we would particularly appreciate representation from large industrial companies, young business owners and the hospitality and tourism sector, as these sectors are currently under-represented on our board.
Eunice McAdam, Board of Directors President, said: “I’d like to thank our Directors who have completed their terms and will be stepping down for their time, energy and dedication to the Chamber and our business community.
“For me it’s an opportunity to serve our membership – a community that I feel very passionate about. As a Chamber of Commerce, we look to represent the collective ambition of The Highlands, acting as a voice for the area at a nation level on many key issues. That is why we want business leaders and professionals who share our aspirations and can represent the views and insights of as many sectors as possible. It’s also an exciting time as we look to forge the next five years of the Chambers strategy to support, connect and represent our members so I urge those who think they have something to contribute.”
